After a very fun Inktober and a less active than I had hoped Dinovember, I'm very excited to dive into a new drawing a day challenge with Selfiecember. It feels like a great way to wrap up 2022 which has been a year of art exploration as I re-embraced regular art making as an important part of my life. I don't do self-portraits often and I also want to explore a wide range of ways to represent my self as well as incorporating every medium I own into this challenge. Some might be quick sketches if its a busy day and others might be artworks I spend more time developing. Either way, each day of December I am going to create a self-portait and share it on my Instagram and artist Facebook page. I'm excited to see how these change from day to day and week to week as the month progresses.
I hope you'll join me in this art adventure. If you post your self-portraits online, please be sure to include the hashtag #selfiecember and @elisabethwellfare if you'd like to tag me directly.
Here's a self-portrait I created when I taught at Charlotte High School that coincided with our Homecoming Famous Person day where I was dressed as artist Frida Kahlo.

I hope to see your selfiecember posts and I can't wait to share my experiences throughout the month.
